IMI Monday Mindfulness – Online

We keep the body in mind as we begin the exploration through the Four Foundations of Mindfulness. These can be considered instructions or suggestions on how we can attend to our present moment experience, with qualities of curiosity, friendliness, care and discernment. Investigating our experience in a way that reveals insights or wisdom into how we can live well, suffer less, and in the process, enjoy the lives that we are living while we are living them.

When we first begin a journey we usually start at home. The body is our homebase on this journey as it provides a stable ground for the often busy, stressed or distracted mind. The body is also a fabulous source of information, revealing the state of the body itself, the state of the heart and the mind.

You will be guided on this journey with meditation and mindfulness practices that invite you to pause reactivity, relax into a receptive awareness, and open to the experiences in the body and beyond the boundary of the skin. Bringing awareness to simply knowing how it is in each moment, as we sit together, move together and practice together.

Our mindfulness and meditation practices will include stillness and movement, intended to support a present moment experience of being awake, alive and fully human. Participants will be invited to speak and listen to themselves and others as we check-in and share from our experience.

The IMI Mindfulness Community offers a wide range of transformative practices: mantras, chanting, kirtans; Pranayama breathing; Heart Centred practices; Kindfulness (mindfulness practiced with wisdom and compassion); Acceptance, Forgiveness, Compassion (Karuna), Loving-kindness (Metta); Mindfulness – observing, witnessing the mind, the Play of Consciousness, non-judgmentally;  finding tranquility, stillness within; experiencing the interconnectedness of all things and a deep connection to Oneness.
