Margaret Van teaches mindfulness based courses to adults and youth. She is certified to teach MBSR (Mindfulness Based Stress Reduction) to adults and the Mindfulness in Schools Project (MiSP) curricula to youth.
An anthropologist by training, Margaret travelled widely for her research while studying French, Spanish, Japanese, Norwegian and Nepali. One of her major interests is in teaching mindfulness to students from different linguistic and cultural backgrounds. Margaret obtained her B.A. (Anthropology) at Columbia University and M.A. (Education) at Stanford University, USA. She has worked in the areas of cross-cultural and diversity training in schools and social service organizations in Canada, Singapore and Hong Kong. She has also taught English as a Second Language and speech arts to the blind in secondary and primary schools.
As a lifelong practitioner of yoga and calligraphy, Margaret tries to infuse mindfulness into her everyday life.
